On the ‘Ring of Kerry’-trail (Ireland) you’ll find one of the best linkscourses on earth: Waterville Golf Links. The course uses the natural landscape and the wind is always in play. The first hole is named ‘Last Easy’. That tells it all. It is a course for longhitters, and one of them is Liam Higgins, the local pro (now on the Senior Tour). He shot a hole-in-one on the 16th (par-4!!), and the hole was subsequently named: Liam’s ace. He was also one of the designers of Old Head Golf Links, that has the potential to become the best course on earth.
